Star Trek Into Darkness (Post-release)

That's actually science there. Based on the theory of planetary coalescence. Protostars gather a matter cloud in the shape of a disk and gravity attracts smaller clumps to larger clumps which, in turn, makes those clumps larger and, therefore, more attractive to more clumps of matter. Eventually enough matter clumps together to create a proto-planet which attracts more matter and becomes a full blown planet.

Since the Genesis Torp's primary goal was to create life where there was none and the Genesis Cave was just an early test that worked out perfectly it is logical that part of the torpedo's design was to stimulate matter gathering to create a planet and then jump start the biofields that lead to life forms. The flaw in the calculations was there was no "slowing code" to stop the accelerated process at some point during it's lifespan so the planet formed, grew life, evolved it quickly while aging and evolving quickly itself and then the planet destroyed itself just as quickly allowing the matter in the Mutara Nebula to return to it's normal dispersion.

Wazzie.....you should take up knitting! :lol

Got my phaser in the mail as well. Is it just mine, or have they turned out another low quality product? Either the rotation on mine is broken, or their design is bad. Not to mention the details are so soft it looks like a recast.

Yeah, I noticed that the detailing on the "WARNING" part was really soft, and there's one or two spots where the paint lines are not perfect. But since neither are very noticeable when you're not close up, I honestly don't mind so much. I think it's a nice display piece and don't regret the purchase.

What's wrong with your rotation? Mine works pretty well.

Its not smooth, it only locks with the magnet on stun, kill holds in place because it's thicker on that side and it wedges in, bending the thinner resin of the bottom barrel downward.

None of which explains why Spock's accelerated aging suddenly slowed to what would be a normal pace for Vulcans...and, coincidentally, only two Earth years older than he was when he died. Fancy that! :D

I picked up the STID Blu-Ray/DVD/Digital/Download/VHS/Kinescope/Celluloid/Fries/Soda combo pack while I was at Costco today. I'm sure there will be a Bonus Feature I'd like to see on one of the alternate versions being sold at Target, Joe's Crab Shack, or the local Chevron station, but that would have happened regardless of which version I bought. All I can say is that the people at Paramount who are responsible for this obvious-money-grab chicken-$#!t marketing scheme should all suffer severe concussions when they bump their heads together while trying to be the first to kiss my entire white backside.

Spock wasn't part of the synthetic genesis construct. Perhaps removing him from the area of effect removed the effect...
Yeah, I've heard that one before, and others. No matter how anyone tries to explain it or rationalize it, the physics of Spock's rebirth make no sense whatsoever and it's one of the reasons The Search for Spock is one of my least favorite Star Trek movies.

:lol:lol:lol

You guys are hilarious!

Bryan, I meant that it looked like you took that shot while on the toilet since it's mirrored. :lol

Yeah, it's starting to look like a MySpace flashback in here. First female member that posts a duck face picture to this thread gets me to unsubscribe. ;)
