Star Trek Enterprise Phase Pistol & PADD Recent Builds

Hey guys,

It’s been awhile since I’ve shared any builds but I wanted to share this shot of my phase pistol and PADD. I plan on darkening up the cowling on the phase pistol and making some other adjustments but I couldn’t resist temporarily assembling it. The phase pistol was given coats of pearl and matte clear to match the screen used look. When I finish it I’ll share some proper pics.

I love Star Trek props and as an Enterprise fan I have to say you've done a great job on the Phase Pistol and PADD.

Where did you get your Phase Pistol cast and is it hollow to allow for electronics?

Thanks! The Phase Pistol came from Xscapesprops. It can be converted to a hero.

Any updates?
I'd be intereste to know which paints and which brands you used for the Phase Pistol, it looks great and is making me want to build my Rodd.com/HMS kit up.

I haven't had a chance to finish it, but I used Krylon Dull Aluminum, Semi-flat black, and a custom mixed can of 7173 equivalent. I then sprayed the body (not the handle) with modge podge pearl clear coat, and then finished the whole thing off with Krylon flat clear. Good luck with the rodd.com kit!

I've searched his site. The contact us link is not working. Does anone have his email address?

So I finally got a chance to refinish my phase pistol build, and I decided to take some proper photos of it. This time I also added some black gaff tape under the red vents to keep them from being totally transparent under certain lighting. To me it just looks more authentic when the deep translucent red is as dark as possible since on screen it hardly shows.

Great builds!

The PADD appears to be a Cabin Industries light panel, which is what they used on the production props. I recently picked up one of these panels in “new old-stock” condition and am planning to build one of these for myself.

What did you use for the blue “dome” at the top of the PADD?

The small transparent dome on the Cabin "ENTERPRISE" prop looks to be one of those "rubber bumpers" with a blue underside decal.
Don't forget to add the half round (rounded ended) "ribs" on the back of the light panel...

propmaster2000 is correct, it’s a clear dome rubber bumpon. Mine is actually a little cloudier looking than I’d like it to be. The originals had a more completely translucent look.

Hi all. Mine does not look as great as the pictures above but I thought I'd give it a try... My PADD design is on THINGIVERSE if you want it. Thanks to a great group for your inspiration. Live Long and Prosper!
