Why all the steam? Are they boarding a train? :lol

That cadet just climbing the stairs needs to consult with Grace Lee Whitney about hair styling. :rolleyes

The shuttle is called "MOORE" eh... nice to see Michael Moore finally getting the credit he deserves, hundreds of years from now. :D

:lol:eek:wacko:sick In that order. Spot on as always Phase Pistol:thumbsup

I loved the Galaxy Quest Thermian Nebulizer and I think this phaser has that beat. It's cool and retro looking. I still love the original series phasers, but this is cool in it's own way.

Now where can i buy an original screenused prop of this to go next to my screenused Galaxy Quest Thermian Nebulizer?

My local Toys 'r Us has put out the entire Star Trek movie line of toys. The phaser is kinda cool. It has three different sounds--power up, stun, and vaporize. The "power up" dial on the top rear lights up when accessed, while the blue and red plastic barrels light up when the phaser is fired. The barrel manually rotates so that the red or blue barrel is pointing forward. A push of a button on the side automatically rotates the barrel back to the opposite direction (very fast!). If you hold the trigger down, it activates continuous firing sounds. The top part of the phaser is molded in silver, whereas the lower half and handle is highly reflective metalized plastic.

As far as the action figures, I liked the 12" and 6" best. The playsets and Enterprise looked cool, too, but I ordered those from newforcecomics.com so I didn't buy them.

Here's a few pix.

Playmates' site listed the Phaser as being vacuum metalized ABS, having the two separate materials just looks wonky! Not to mention the metalized grip smudging easily... lots of fingerprints in those pics...

The screen used prop is in fact the two tone color!!! :cool

The difference on the PM Phaser is huge. The difference on the prop is like the differing sheen between metal and cold cast metal, not nearly as stark. It's not so distracting on the real deal.

If you go back and look at the early toy phaser photos from a few months ago, you can now tell that the top half was molded in silver and the bottom half metalized plastic. The whole phaser should have been molded in silver, and then it would look closer to the movie prop.

I bet if you hit the whole thing with a dull coat it would unify the look a little while still looking like two different materials.
