If you look on the very first page there is a couple picture of the clip, a 3D model and the print Kevin did..or I believe he printed it out

Is there a thread anywhere on the design of the clips... I was wanting those the most.

Just wanted to say I too received my items in the mail today as well. All the items were great, and I concur about the blaster clips. They do fit the gun, but even after maybe adding in material in the clips to fit the toy blaster to prevent it sliding out, the side arms I think would snap from any side to side movement. Irregardless, just wanted to say thanks for the rest, and good effort on the clips. Will look forward to what you come up with on design of the clips next.

On a side note, as I'm still fairly new to this, anyone know what would be the recommended or best way to attach the arm patch and rocket controls to clothing?

For the patch, E6000 glue should work fairly well to attach to the jacket while still leaving some flexibility to it. The rocket controls I plan on embedding magnets in, and attaching that way

So, Kevin Gossett (or anyone, really) - can you please identify the mesh material to which the rocket controls attach? I'm about to go work for a metal shop for a day tomorrow and if they have any, I'm so swooping in on some of that!

Alright, quick update. I'm still not happy with the strength of the clips, so I'm going to bulk up the model, master it, and mold/cast. I'm going to suspend orders on them for the time being. Everything else is going as planned though. For the packages that have already been sent with the clips, I'll issue a refund for that portion. Apologies if this puts a kink in anyone's plans!

I believe I am in the third group (assuming you're doing groups of 10) and was in for the clips and rocket controls. I am more than willing to wait until the clips are re-engineered so everything can be sent together (because shipping from the US to Canada is ridiculous). Is the cost for the clips still going to be the same if you're going the mould/cast route instead?

I'm in the fifth group so it probably won't be a concern by then but I second what Yrien said about shipping everything together, I can wait so it keeps the shipping costs down.

I guess I should go ahead and update with a photo...

The parts are all cold-cast aluminum, which means they don't require any painting (unless you want to add additional weathering via blackwash).

To finish the parts, use fine steel wool (#0000) to buff the pieces to a slight shine. If you want to really bring out the bling, use a polishing wheel (dremel attachment or with your drill/drillpress/bench grinder) and polishing compound. The parts you see above have been buffed on such a wheel.

For the patch, paint your red and blue areas first, then add your blackwash to grime it up a bit. Once you're happy with the colors, hit the highlights with silver dry-brushing

What type of paint would you suggest for painting the arm badge? i've never painted that type of material before, but it seems like paint wouldn't like to adhere to it very well

Got my package last week, everything is awesome! brought out the shine in the Buckle and Rocket controls and they look great! currently working on the arm patch which im excited to see finished. Ill post pictures of my finished build in time for Halloween

thanks so much for providing this awesome work, bummed about the clips but respect that you didnt release a part that you knew wouldnt function correctly

Acrylic should work just fine :thumbsup
