Star Lord Boot Rocket

well the one im looking at is a dual extruder and will work with either abs or pla.......also have been searching for "upgrade parts". been reading on the many different materials you can "print" with these days......a big THANK YOU to all the members with information on the 3d process. it's been turning the crank in my head for awhile now. not only will it be a toy for me, but it will be used for everyday things. playful and educational, mainly for my mini-me......barely a toddler but he's gonna have a jump start in school
.......

Great work. Just downloaded the v3 files and got a quick question after looking at them in an STL viewer.
For the rocket p6 v3.stl and rocket p6 v3 single.stl files, they both look to be the the same pin for the bottom part of the rocket, correct? But with the rocket p6 v3.stl having more facets than the rocket p6 v3 single.stl file. Or are they slightly different in another way and I'm missing something?

Thanks. Imported it into Sketchup and saw all the pins. Just saw one pin in the STL viewer I have when I did a quick check of the files.

Great design! Quick questions:

1) For some reason, when I try to load parts 3 and 5 of v3 into STL viewer, it doesn't show the jet nozzle of the rockets for part 5, or the main body of part 3. Anyone have a clue of why this is happening? The v2 files load up well...

2) Is there anyway to import this in a modeler like solidworks to modify the file? If not, is there anyway I could get the 3d model?

Thanks for posting this - now I don't need to use the PVC bits I was planning on using, LOL

How would someone get this printed or put up on shapeways? I do not have access to a 3d printer, but thought it may be an option.

does anyone have an photos of the printed files, Im super confused over which files from the first list I need and while from the V3 list.

Could you post the shapeways link in here as I tried and tried so many options and couldn't find the model over there.

Thanks Kevin.

Zexcced.

I'm printing these now and after the first few parts, the scale seems much smaller than another rocket file I printed for comparison. Are there overall dimension for the finished rockets? I am using Cura 17.1

Example:
rocket p2 v3.stl
X: 29.64 mm
Y: 27.94 mm
Z: 38.1 mm

These are really awesome, and thank you for creating and sharing.

one question, have you created or do you know if someone created the boot mounts for them?

None of the v3 files seem to be available anymore....is there a reason, or are the first set of files located above this post updated?

Just wondering, thanks again for taking your time to make, mod, and upload for us!!!

Ping me for a zipped folder of the rockets which I think are the correct size. When I started my build, the first thing I did was data-mine the CRAP outta' everything to get what l needed to make this build as authentic as possible. In the mean time, here's how mine came out (I *think* the files I have are this version, here, don't quote me...but in the last shot, you'll notice I put them on my work mat so you can do your own scaling, here...

I downloaded the V2 files just fine, but then I noticed there was a V3 and the links keep bringing me to a page that says "The file link that you requested is not valid."
