Alright, another question in a different direction. *As I stated earlier, I have planned on using the 1/2" anti fatigue mats for the material for my armor. But what should I do for the gauntlets? They need to be fitting around the wrist, but also wrap around my forearm 100%, so there isn't any room for a zipper or laces. I had two thoughts, illustrated here:
First, have the gauntlet in one piece, with a simulated seam on one side, and the actual material opening on the other. I would use Velcro or magnetic tape to secure it. My issue lies with, will the repeated opening as closing on the foam warp the paint on the other side, or am I opening the gauntlet slightly enough to where the crease is negligible?
Second, I thought about two separate pieces, again being held together with either Velcro or magnetic tape contact cemented into place. This would negate the need to bend the foam, but would the magnetic tape be strong enough to keep the gauntlet together?
I am admittedly wary of Velcro, because of the force necessary to separate the two pieces I fear would warp and bend the foam.
Does anyone else have any suggestions??
