Got a few free hours on a holiday...make a Mobile Emitter.

I was looking for a quick project to use my styrene bits. I made a template from a photo, made 4 layers of 1 mm styrene. Made the cut outs in the top layer milled, filed and sanded...add some paint and a printout of the control area...good to go.

Re: Mobile Emitter

So I took some time and learned how to measure...

Updated mobile emitter coming soon...

Re: Mobile Emitter

Looks awesome JMar,

is that the same paint you used on the TNG pad, what color is that...gray with speckles?

I am trying to find the styrene you used on the TNG pad, look crafts store hasn't got it...hopefully the one other hobby type store here will.

Re: Mobile Emitter

Thanks guys...though the updated one will be better.

I gave the over sized one to our 2 yr old neice, she loves her "howo emitew"

As for the paint I used Dupli-Color CBSU1345 Quick Silver Metallic (if you're canadian it's Canadian Tire prod # 47-2675-2)

The graphic was from the images taken of the prop Andreas built (or rebuilt) over at trekprops.de

Re: Mobile Emitter

I forgot to add I used Medium Marblehead Metallic for the PADD. I don;t have the lid handy so I don;t have the product code but I believe it's a GM color match

Re: Mobile Emitter

Here's the new emitter made to the correct size.

I placed it beside my first to show the scale of my inability to measure properly

Re: Mobile Emitter

I made one of these quite a few years back when Voyager was still on. Nice work, I love the circuitry.

I printed of a template for an emitter and realized it was way to big...think I have the template re-sized now, looks to be the same size you started with and my final re-size is where you ended.

Where did you get the circuitry graphic..that's awesome.

I suppose I should finish my PADD first tho...

The circuitry graphic is actually from a photo of the mobile emitter. I just used standard glossy paper.
