SS Raptor model

Is the BSG Raptor model still being produced? I saw a thread from December that said they were available, but not much else came out of that thread since then.

I have seen a lot of build threads around and I am inspired for sure. I would like to track one of these down if they are still being done.

Mike Salzo was doing the reissue. I was fortunate to pick one up. I'll see if I have his contact info.

Yeah, I did get in contact with Mike the other day. It looks like he does not have a complete set of molds right now and there have been no requests for this piece in almost 6 months.



It looks like a fantastic model, I just can not seem to get my mind off of it.

I think I was the one who asked about it six months ago (can that really be?...) I would still like to get this kit, so I hope he tools up again with the molds!

I have emailed Mike back to see how many interested he might need to produce a new run of kits, I have not heard back from him yet, but I am sure he is pretty busy.

I want to "have a go" at sculpting an Adama for my next build - reading the charred book, silently and patiently waiting in the Raptor for Roslyn, as we just saw in tonight's episode. Such a wonderfully powerful scene, and a great showcase for the "plain jane" Raptor.

I want to make another one as a Heavy Raptor - BRISTLING with weapons.

That would be REALLY cool. If you ever do it, let me know, but I think that would be a great addition to this model.

I think I am going to make a landing deck base for this.

Sorry for the lag in response time on this thread guys, I've been very busy with a couple of other large projects that have kept me very occupied....Anyway the molds need a complete overhaul, and for that i do not think there is enough interest at this time, and even if there was i am booked for the enitre summer with the forementioned projects....sorry guys....if there winds up being a renewed interest i will consider remolding at some point.

I should have it in hand next week, so I figure I will get started on in by the end of June.

Just received a message from Lordvdr, it looks like he has been really busy with his new job, however he did tell me that he just sent the kit out last week, so I wanted to get the word out here that things are looking better.

Yeah, so I have not heard from the seller since just after I sent him payment. Lordvdr sold it to me on May 29th, last communication was on June 5th, but I have not received the kit or heard back from him dispite two follow up emails and pm's.

If anyone knows Barrett, could you drop him a line or give him a call and ask him to contact me?

Finally got it today.

I will be planning this out this week and starting the prep work this weekend.

I am going to close this thread soon and start a new one about the build when I start taking pictures.
