SS Galactica constructions - a question

For all of those that have attempted to construct a Studio Scale Original Series BSG model, i have a question. I'm looking for some kit identifications for a Muffit 2 build and can't locate some parts. I figured that anyone that has possitively identified model kits used on other Galactica models, might be able to help. So, if this applies to use, please post, PM or email me if you think you might be able to help. Thanks for looking.

I might be able to help as the Galactica is one of my on going projects, and I have most of the kits.

Outside the Wostol 1 parts for the eyes a quick look at the photos you told me about seems to show parts from a Tamiya 1/35 88mm Gunflak 36/37 kit,and a couple of bendy straws. The same parts are on the Colonial Mover model.

It also looks like a few wheels from one of the rail guns were used, but I'm not sure. I'll go over some kitscans tonight and see what I can find.

Thanks for the reassurance on those pieces. Those are the ones that have already been identified because I guess they are the most common. I've been looking at a ton of sprue layouts online but haven't found anything else since I don't even know the years that those models were out. It's like looking for a needle....you know the rest! ;) I appreciate the fact that you are looking and welcome any other thoughts. Thanks again. I've seen a lot of the rectangle pieces with the X on them, but can't identify the correct model kit. Most of the other kits have them with sharper edges and to me, the pieces on muffit look more rounded. There are several pieces under the nose and whisker area that I can't identify or I don't have great pics of the pieces that are on the outer part of the eyes in between the "lashes".

I saw the Muffit 2 in the Sci-Fi Museum in Washington, maybe someone could take a few photos for you. The back box does have the railgun parts on it, I recognized them when I was there.

Good luck with it!

Sorry the only shot I could get before security caught me was this one.

Cool, thanks. Are pictures not allowed there at the museum?

That is correct. No cameras allowed. Unless you can hide them well ;)

So far when I have been caught I am just told no photos and to but my camera away. So I do and just come back another day and get a shot or two off before I am caught again.

Most of all the photos I hav taken from openning day ill now can be found here: http://gbparts.danawheels.net/graphics/asap/sfm/

It isn't the DS9 Tribbles model because that is also in the gallery (but different).

Yep, that's a very nice website and very neat pics. Thank you for posting! If any one heads out to the museum to "steal" some pics....I would love some of the Muffit face details.

TW,
That is the Enterprise that is seen from the Station Manager's Office from K7 out the window in Tribbles.

Nice shots Golden.

Awesome, GC1. some of the kits for those face parts have been identified, but others are still missing. I appreciate you posting those pics of Muffit and hope someday every bit on there will be identified. I'm still going through a bunch of websites with kit sprues to locate pieces, but most of the pics i have seen of Muffit, make it a little difficult to pinpoint exactly.

For the life of me, I can't understand why there are no pictures allowed in that museum. Weren't all the items in the museum made to be photographed, and have in fact appeared in MOVIES and TV SHOWS?
