My first Star Wars model in over a decade. Thought I'd tackle this little big fella as I begin ramping up into the SW universe again! This is the Studio Scale "Nice'N" Escape Pod that required a fair amount of work to get ready for paint. My good friend Belleauwood had this as a left over casting so it took a fair amont of sanding/puttying to get it in shape. I chose not to rework a lot of kit parts that I could have replaced, as I just wanted to jump right into painting/weathering and see how she came out. It's fairly close in weathering to the original filming miniature, with a bit of my own artistic license thrown in.
At this point, it's about 95% complete. I am still working on either getting/scratching the Sealab wiring to put in the engine section, need to add the heat sinks inside, and then she'll get a final dullcote all over (please ignore some of the shininess in places for now).
It really displays nicely, and overall it's a great model and cool to have something iconic from one of the original opening shots!
