Hey guys!
I'm new to mechanical craftsmanship, so if this seems like an amateur question- that's why. I'm working on a project that involves an egg-shaped "cage" similar to the egg in the potion scene of "Death Becomes her" but I was curious as to how I would be able to mechanically get the egg to pop open like it does in the film? I realize that it's just how the sides are placed and that the ribbon is holding them all together, but maybe there's a way to press a button on the top of the egg and have it do the same thing without the ribbon? a latching mechanism of some sort? I'm open to ideas. Thanks in advance! I look forward to learning your knowledge!
