Splice Movie Discussion

Just saw the 1st trailer for it this morning on the Boondock Saints 2 disc. Looks good, but lets hope it's not another Species turkey.

i'm not a big fan of horror movies - so i'll just ask this now.. anyone know what they spliced the human dna with? alien? animal?

I don't want to have spoilers - post the answer only if it's "common knowledge" or something

It's something to watch for me while waiting for Predators to come out. Hollywood doesn't put out much that catches my interest.

I doubt it is Alien DNA, that would make it way too similar to Species. However, I can't tell what the splicing was done with. I speculate it is done with one or more creatures from earth.

It's interesting from the view of current technology. I read that mastodon (?) / mammoth blood was recently cloned. Scientists are fooling around with plant, sea and animal life for a long time.

Two young scientists (Brody and Polley) achieve fame by splicing human DNA with the DNA of different animals to create a new creature.

Regardless of alien vs animal DNA it still looks like Species reboot to me. Which is a selling point because I really loved the first one:thumbsup

This is one of those flicks that's so bad it demands to be seen. A classic turkey of the highest magnitude. The love scene (you'll know it when you see it) is destined to go down in the annals of grossly inappropriate tastelessness. And I mean that as a compliment.

If you like laughing out loud at really crappy movies, Splice is just what the doctor ordered.

:confused

Keep in mind that trailers are supposed to look fantastic and most do. Some trailers may be amazing compared to the movie they advertise.

my username virtually everywhere but here including my xbox live gamertag is Splice and has been for almost seven years. This movie is irritating me greatly lol

Watched it tonight. I saw more "Species" in it than did the friend I saw it with, but it was enjoyable enough.

Slightly spoilerish comment: Fred and Ginger's last scene was hilarious.

Well, yeah, but you liked Star Trek (2009), so what does that say about you?

:p

I thought they should give Mary Shelley a writing credit. It's basically Frankenstein warmed over for modern audiences. The science run amok story is as prevalent as ever.
