Spiderman web shooter: A collaborative project.

Re: Spiderman web shooter: A collaborative project. Now with wiring diagrams!

It would appear so. I guess i'll be printing the image on cardstock, laminating it, and running wires underneath to two tactile switches. Not as elegant as the FPC but it will work i guess.

Here is my wiring diagram. Unfortunately i don't have anything other than pencil with me, so it isn't color coded. A few notes for those who don't have much (or any) experience with this stuff. Switches have no polarity, and there is no specific place to put them. If you put them in the middle of a circuit anywhere, they will control everything connected. Also, resistors don't have to be on the positive side of an led, and you will have to use a resistor if you have a 3v battery and a red led.

So to give a quick rundown of this circuit, without the web cartridge in place, nothing will function while pushing the buttons or not. With the web cartridge in place, the green led(s) come on and the blue and red leds (nozzle flash and dome led) will be active when the buttons are pushed. Very simple compared to the stuff i normally work with.

Also, due to the way a reed switch functions, if you use one you will not be able to hold in the cartridge magnetically. A friction fit would probably be best. With something bigger you might have enough area to put magnets for support on the sides and magnets for detection on the front, but with this space i would definitely not depend on the weak attraction between the reed switch and the sensor magnets to hold in the cartridge.

Long time lurker here on therpf, but been wanting to put together a Spidey suit next. This thread looks awesome, and I'll be ordering some parts in the next few days. Will post pics up once I get started. Until then, I'll just continue lurking and watching y'all's awesome progress.

Count me, what is the price?

Re: Spiderman web shooter: A collaborative project. Now with wiring diagrams!

Hey guys, what would be the better size to get for the bingo chips, 3/4 in or 7/8 in. Which size is bigger?

I ended up getting 3/4", and there was still trimming necessary. The larger the chip, the more you'll have to trim.

7/8" is an eighth larger than 3/4". ( 3/4"=6/8")

Re: Spiderman web shooter: A collaborative project. Now with wiring diagrams!

Thanks so much for making these available! I thought I'd try modeling some of the sprockets in just to see what would happen. Here's what I came up with

I don't plan on printing the red cover, but I want to see what happens if I print everything else.

^ Thats freaking awesome!! Great work!! :thumbsup :D

Re: Spiderman web shooter: A collaborative project. Now with wiring diagrams!

i used velcro but for when the shooter is attached to the velcro the strap is sown onto the band and then the band is glued to the bezel so the velcro seals the bottom onto it but the bezel also snaps onto the shooter so that it is attached in two ways,

Just found your video on YouTube, love the breakdown and explanation of everything; with your permission I'd like to add it to the first post. :thumbsup

Love the rendering, makes me want to get off my butt and finish these things!

Re: Spiderman web shooter: A collaborative project. Now with wiring diagrams!

Eagerly awaiting my shapeways delivery, i sculpted and cast a resin mock-up to test the magnets and dimensions. Cant wait for the finished piece.
