:lol that'd be too easy.
I updated the files to reflect the slightly thicker bezel. Also, I saved each piece as it's own file in addition to a final assembly. Enjoy!

So, do the acrylic discs fit good?

They do and they don't. It's a really tight fit for sure, I'm just not digging how thick the disc is in comparison to the shooter.

Also, the rim I modeled is barely sufficient enough to cradle the disk. Don't get me wrong it fits, but reflecting on it it should be done with a larger diameter. All too often it's easy to get lost in the 3D model itself; forgetting completely about the scale you are working in.

I dunno, maybe I'm just being picky.

Tomorrow I'll pick up some glazing putty and RIT dye :love

oh, and for those wondering how well the Ultra Frosted Detail illuminates...

This is without sanding. Absolutely perfect :cool

Dude.... YOU. ARE. AMAZING. I'm gonna pay my dad to order these right away! (Seeing as that I'm "Underage" or whatever).

You could always sand a slight bezel into the acrylic lens.... Didnt the movie one have a bezel on it ?

What size is the acrylic disc ? We
Might be able to find a thinner one

Too easy...? Didn't know that there was a junkyard thread for this. :thumbsup

How are you getting it to illuminate?

That's another project I'm working on that happened to be sitting on my bench. It's a Vu Meter and I just placed the part on top of it.

For the actual lighting, I just bought some 1.6mm LED with leads. That's about as small as you can get before going into surface mounted lighting. I bought them from here:
1.6mm LED
I got a pack of clear green and red for $6.00 shipped. Can't wait for them to get here so I can start on the electronics. :):thumbsup

Also here's a small update regarding lighting:
Here you can get a better idea of the set up that I'm going to be going with. That glass tube inside the base is something called a reed switch. It activates whenever a strong magnetic field comes into proximity.
Now, the idea is that I drill a small hole in the cartridge and place the magnet inside; so now the cartridge will act as the switch and turn on the led lights when it's inserted. Neat eh?

That's awesome, now are you planning on attaching a trigger of some sort to activate the LED's?

Re: Spiderman web shooter: A collaborative project. Even more 3D Print Goodness!!!

That's the beauty of it all, the Fluid Cartridge is the trigger. :cool

I will have a master on/off button for extended storage though. :thumbsup

Takes me back to my days at MSOE. I really have to crack open those notebooks and get back in touch with that circuit based knowledge.

Great progress!

Will your master be located in the glove?

Impressive. Most impressive. :thumbsup

Just chiming in to say it's refreshing to see a couple things taking place here.

1) 3D work that is actually printable! Well done. :thumbsup

2) A very nice effort being made to educate the guys who aren't as dialed in as others on the process.

Good for you, man! Very nice to see something like this being handled as well as it has been. Just had to give you a little rep. for this thread.
