So I've moved away from the Flash for a little while until I can get a new glue gun- the last one broke into itty bitty pieces- so I decided to teach myself how to sew and create one of the easiest cosplays ever. This is the image I'm basing my costume off.
First I made the mask. I used an old T-Shirt and cut the pattern and began hand sewing, which if you are in doubt about learning, DO, it's probably the easiest skill I now have next to breathing.
My modesty aside the mask didn't fit at first but after pulling a few threads from the seem my head fit like a glove. I then cut the eye holes and I got this... So far no money spent. Next I went out in search of goggles and found that a store I live near by chance had the exact goggles I was looking for which was phenomenal. Only stung me 7.99 which is a lot cheaper than the ones I found online. So I got this...
The ones I found on Amazon.co.uk that look even close to mine are these. http://www.amazon.co.uk/Steampunk-G...d=1422129042&sr=8-37&keywords=aviator+goggles which are 13.99 and need recoloured. Mine came in black.
The coat I got for free from a friend of mine and while not in the exact style i wanted, looks great. He said he bought it in Primark for 35.00 but gave it to me for 20.00. Good guy. I looked online and you can definitely get a coat like this for a similar price.
Next was a black jumper, trousers and boots but those I already had.
If you want to see it in person you'll have to come to MCM Comic Con Belfast 2015.
I'll definitely be revisiting this costume to add the vest and gun holsters. I also might cut a little spider out of cardboard and stick it on my jumper. Maybe. So all together about a 30.00-40.00 costume. Cheap and easy.
