If you've followed my chest armor saga you know it's been a miserable experience. I bought a set on ebay (I know I know) that looked great. It came cracked and chipped. The guy gave me a partial refund to get it fixed. I sent it to Vaderpainter to have it done back in August. Becuase the armor didn't cure right when it was made, the paint reacted with it causing all kinds of problems. Mr. Bean gave many many hours and many many tries to make it work. After I decided I had bothered him enough and told him to just ship it back, he didn't charge me for all the trouble. I paid less than what it would have cost for it to have worked perfectly the first time. With all the time and materials he put into it, he should have taken my first born. In a few months I'll be upgrading my armor and Mr. Bean will get my business. If you haven't dealt with Bob you should. Mr. Bean (Vaderpainter) is one of the finest, standup guys I've met in this hobby, and I thank him for everything...

Good to hear that you´ve had good experiences with Bob, I´m sure some will chime in and tell "something else" :rolleyes

BTW:
How did you attach the shoulder bells?
They seem to extend FAR beyond where your arms/ shoulders end?

I just used some super heavy/sticky tape. I wasn't exactly sure how they were supposed to go. They are even with the armor. Are they supposed to be like that or do they go under the shoulder armor? Pics would be great. :)

I, too, think the shoulder bells are out a bit far. I'd try tucking them under the chest armor. Maybe attach them to your shoulders of the padded suit.

Yeah I thought he looked a little too linebackery. This was just the first fitting. By the time I got it all put together and on it was late. Still fun though :)

I permanently attached the shoulders of my Vader armor to the main chest piece via fiberglassing. They do make the shoulders look bigger but I think it suits the costume (at least for me).

Glad to hear that worked out for you. BTW, just a little constructive criticism, the codpiece goes below the robe. :thumbsup

Fixed the shoulders and added the pc fans to helmet (I can see now..) Somehow the chest box slipped while dressing so I'll raise that before going out tomorrow. Thoughts??? :)

I've never dealt with Vaderpainter in as far as his services go, but he was always a personable guy when I dealt with him on a piece he was looking for some years back. Are those GT gloves? They always look a tad too long.

The gloves, along with the suit, are form Lucas Alvarez.

Bob is a good man. A good friend, and VERY talented. Congrats.

I've dealt with Vaderpainter, personally with inquiries to which he very swiftly and politely answered... I also bought a piece that had been painted by him (but I bought it from someone else) and still up to this day, it's one of the finest paintworks I've seen so I'd like to recommend him by all means as well :) Creds to Bob.
