Spears And Conventions...

Hello Hunters !

I'm sorry for my lack of posting on the lair since the past few months, but I'm back !

I just wanted some informations about weapons and conventions, especially spears...

Did you have some troubles with weapon check ? And how I could build a spear that would be convention safe ? Since conventions where I live are pretty severe with weapons ( and by severe I mean that wooden swords are forbidden, see...) and if some of you had, well, not necessarely troubles, but more like they want to take your weapon and keep it because they judge it too dangerous, what do you do in that case ?

I thought about doing my spear out of PVC pipes with the tips and '' blades '' made out of Apoxie sculpt... Do you think it would be still too dangerous ? I'm opened to all advices for a convention-safe spear

I made a combistick out of 3 sizes of bamboo sections covered with leather & silver metallic tape, with a leather strap so could either put it over my shoulder or across my back.

As long as I kept it 'secured', nobody gave me any guff about it.

This was about 4-5 years ago in L.A.

Oh I see ! I hope they won't be as severe as they were last year, I'm doing my best to get it convention safe, I'll check if I could add a strap like you did, maybe they would accept it, well thanks !
