Sources for small metal tubes: Doctor Who screwdriver related

I am still working on my Tennant screwdrivers, but I can't find any small metal tubes to run the wire through in the emmiter section for the light. I only need about a 10 inches if that.

Can someone point me in the right direction for the tubing?

not sure where you're from but there's a craft store called hobby lobby and they've got some brass and aluminum tube that should be the right size for you.
Hey, are you entering the contest?

Just my unsolicited two pence but have you considered using the barrels-bodies of drafting or drawing pens ? Some have really intricate textures and tooling that would add a 'designer' touch to your projects.

Also if you have a farm supply or industrial hardware outlet accessible, go browse the bins for various widgets in brass, copper and other metals.

Hobby Lobby
Mendards
The local hobby store(s)
Ace Hardware

All the above by me have a small brass, aluminum and stainless steel small shapes metal display...

Thanks for the links. Will the 1/8 of an inch have enough put a simple light in ?

There is a 3mm LED in the MFX, but that tube has a 1/8 inch OD.

Well 1/8" = 3.175mm so yeah it's possible with thin wall tubing, not all 3mm (T1) LEDs are created the same either they vary in size and shape from manufacture to manufacture... They are about 3mm but not exact most of the time...

So I would be looking at a trial an error situation. Will I need to seperate wires for the light or will one be enough? Electronics is not my thing. I was hoping to find a pre-existing light with a flexible neck so I can just swap them out if I can.

Thanks again for the information.

The LED itself is inside a cavity at the nose of the emitter, the tube just houses the two wires. And yes, you'll need two, one connected to each prong on the LED.

Thanks all for the links. I think I found what I needed at Hobby Lobby in Findlay, Ohio. I have to wait until the machinist returns my screwdrivers before I can proceed though.

Thank you all again.
