soundtrack wishes you have

I collect soundtracks as probably many of you do.
My questions are: what movie do you wish they would release that never was and what soundtrack would you like released with music and dialogue snippets.

I have the Jake Speed soundtrack but I think it would have better with some of those great lines between the tracks.

Yor: Hunter from the Future. The theme song (and the whole movie) was so bad it's good, and I've never been able to find it in any form other than directly ripped from the movie.

I will geek out badly now--as a historical film lover--and say I wish the Barry Lyndon soundtrack would be re-mastered/re-released. It's beautiful and wildly expensive these days. Had an old tape that was my mom's--but it got chewed up years ago. :cry

Terminator and The Keep.

They have both been released but are now out of production. And I'd like the deluxe version of both.

I'd also like the drum section that is played during the dropship scene in Aliens. Even on the deluxe ST's this isn't included for some reason. Every hard-core Aliens fan wants this.

BTW, for those into the Star Wars ANH soundtrack, there was a special release including previously unreleased bits like the other song played by the Cantina band....the song when Han Solo introduces himself. I like that song better than the Cantina intro song...

Tons.

But I frequently just grab the entire audio track to listen to.
Movie Audio

That's totally cool and thanks for posting that stuff, Mic! The links on your movie audio page don't seem to be working for me... It hadn't occurred to me to try and just rip the audio which is a great idea. Back in the day before my family even had a VCR I took my RadioShack tape recorder my Dad bought me for Christmas one year and set it in front of the TV when Star Wars was on. I must have worn out those audio tapes from listening to them so much so seeing the audio tracks like this really sends me back.

I would love a COMPLETE soundtrack to anything John Williams did from 75-84. yes, i know there are some expanded versions, but every soundtrack is still missing bits and pieces. I really want the TOD soundtrack piece when they first get on the bridge - the percussion piece which is missing in the new release. i would also love an expanded Jaws 2 soundtrack. That is some great music by Williams!!

Yeah, that wasn't on the original double-album nor the CD version of same, but it's been included on every ANH music release since the early 90s. Nothing you'd find on the shelves now will lack it.

You guys need to check out this site, it's a fantastic database:

This is a good/tough question as we're living in a fantastic time for film music fanatics (I used to host a radio show called "Lights, Camera, Music"). Nearly everything I could ever want has been issued in some form or other at one time. A lot of them have been re-issued/expanded though as steveo says there's always some little bit missing. My main problem is coming up with the $$$ I need to get the stuff I want--I keep spending my money on props! I'd love to have the complete music from the 1943 "Munchausen" (there is a suite that's been recorded but it doesn't make use of the main theme--frustrating!!).

I also wish someone would release/re-issue the complete score for "Young Sherlock Holmes"--I missed getting the promo only copy and it sells for crazy stupid money these days.

The Omega Man
Mad Max: Beyond thunderdome. I have it digital but i want the vinyl my buddy has.
There's a lot of older movies i'd love soundtracks from the 1950s bad scifi movies

No dialogue please.

I second the Jaws II nomination, that is a phenomenal score screaming for at least a re-release and preferably an expanded release.

I would like to see an expanded release of Legrand's Three Musketeers.

...and I hope there are a few more hidden Goldsmith or Williams treasures out there. One Little Indian caught me by surprise, it's awesome and I'd never heard of it.

Blade Runner - complete.

The so called "complete" version released a couple of years ago is missing a ton of material.
I'm sick to death of the huge amount of bootlegs which are cobbled together from various sources.
