Soundtrack recommendations

I hope this is the right area for my question.

I want to expand my movie soundtrack library and need some good suggestions. I have the obvious choices; Star Wars, LOTR, & Star Trek, however, I'd like to add to them.

I also love Midnight Syndicate, even though they aren't technically movie soundtracks.

Any suggestions?

In addition to Midnight Syndicate, I recommend Nox Arcana, Two Steps From Hell, and Audiomachine.

As far as soundtracks go, I would check these out:

The Ghost and the Darkness
Clash of the Titans (1981)
The Last Starfighter
Pirates of the Caribbean trilogy
Iron Man
Captain America
Thor
The Avengers
Conan the Barbarian
Starship Troopers
Predator
Commando
Eternal Darkness: Sanity's Requiem
Farscape
any score by John Williams
KickAss
Stargate
King Arthur
Labyrinth
Legend
Primeval (BBC show)
Robocop
Firefly/Serenity
SuckerPunch
Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street
Repo: The Genetic Opera
The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch, and the Wardrobe
The Incredibles
The Rocky Horror Picture Show
Transformers (1985 cartoon movie)
Transformers (2007)
Tron
Tron Legacy
Van Helsing

Great suggestions by Fiction, don't forget the soundtrack for Blade Runner! Vangelis did an amazing job with that one.

Anything by Jerry Goldsmith. Especially his 70s stuff, like Alien, Capricorn One, Boys From Brazil. Thomas Newman has some great stuff like Shawshank Redemtion, and Wall E. And if you like John Barry, I recommend The Black Hole, and King Kong. Also, I can't recommend enough the the newly released complete score to Conan The Barbarian by Basil Poledouris.

If you can swing the $225 price tag, LaLaLa just released a limited set of all the music from Star Trek TOS. Some of the best music ever put on television.

The HOOK soundtrack is my personal favourite. Also, the series one soundtrack from BBC's Sherlock is awesome!

Got the ST: TOS soundtrack on order right now. My Christmas present to myself. Can't wait.

I would recommend subscribing to La-La Land Record's newsletter. A lot of their releases are limited and sometimes (not all the time) they'll sell out within a week. Their expanded release of Commando I think sold out in hours.

Intrada is the next big gig. After their limited edition of "The Explorers" sold out within hours, they pressed more CDs and dropped their limited edition status all together. Expect really good titles from them now that they've partnered up with Disney and Universal.

And if you haven't found a copy yet, find a copy of Intrada's limited 2-Disc set of the Back to the Future score. It's one of my holy grails and it contains so much music both heard and unheard.

Two more words:
