sonic screwdriver light bar mod

That's neat! Too bad it looks so obtrusive to the casing XD If it could be worked in that would look nice. I haven't seen anything like this specifically but there's this one that shows up on eBay by the same seller that has a light that makes the slider channel glow as well as the clear section. Wouldn't mind seeing a mod like this done on a metal sonic though.

heh, thanks...however, the surface mount parts looked quite a bit better anyway - but then planning and making, tend not to always work out...

hmm, dang...that's a clever, yet simple idea...seems quite easy to do also(quickly thinking about it anyway, hehe)

* OK, just saw the sonic you mentioned...am curious, how did he get into the clear plastic to paint the black twisty thing white?...hehe
other than that, it should have a button on the slider, and the blue light bar routered out and filled in with translucent whatever...

My guess is that he carefully split the sonic on the seam line and pulled it out for the paint. I'd pulled apart a couple and it's not TOO hard to do. He also could have found a way to remove it from one end or another as well when he was wiring up the core for the light.

As for the button mod, It's actually surprisingly NOT impossible to mod that to put a button on the slider nor is it difficult. I just never bothered after buying a metal sonic. I should try it though and see how it sells online XD

heh, yeah, went and pulled mine apart - but now wondering also, if its even worth my time just to try it, or work on all the other projects i've got...
