Sonic screwdriver licensed replicas.

But I'll be featuring mine in a fan series! Na-ne-na-ne!

You have me there. I just let my friends play with mine:

Here's me knocking over my King! I know when to concede...:lol

Check and mate!

By the way...who's the funny looking guy behind McCoy?

Some fat dude in a McGann costume. Good thing it was Halloween otherwise he'd be a real geek. ;)

Funny you should mention Check and Mate considering that was a DW Fan Audio I wrote for a friend years ago: http://www.doctorwho.damproductions.org/html/series1/0104.htm

Turned out fairly well if I do say so myself.

Absolute coincidence....

Now before someone else gets on line with the "Can we get back on topic" pissy-post...here it is..

Sonic screwdrivers!

I love my sonic screwdrivers (well my future self does, but he told me the ns one is fantastic and why would i lie to myself)

unfortuneatley my Z grade fanfilm never got finished (one lousy 5 minute scene short) before my college friends split after graduation so i cant make any other claims

Sonic screwdrivers!

Hey, man, we're just stalling for time until Neill or Russ posts something about us all getting our wish and getting MilleniumFX metal bodied sonics with screamingly ultra bright blue LED's and a night indestructible build all courtesy of RussRep's uber-machine shop. :)

It's sort of like that talking about the weather to stave off nervousness thing...

Had a horrible thought over the weekend. Russ told me that he could not make one in the $100.00 range, would need to be more. So, if he makes them for Neill....who needs his mark-up for profit....Could we be looking at a $300.00 replica? :cry

I honestly had a hard time imagining that it would be a 100.00 prop to begin with. Especially if it had electronics, I guess I looked at it like the MIB Neuralyzer..didn't that run in the 300-450 range?

Don't forget - making things one at a time is a lot more expensive than doing 10,000 at a time. The price drops the more that are made because of bulk orders of materials and several worker related factors. Making one metal object requires a machinist, making a full run requires a machine shop. With a massive number ordered the price would be a lot less...we hope.

I was actually really surprised that the estimate was originally that low. It would definently be cheaper to have them mass produced. But I wonder if with as complex as the thing is if the final product will end up trading off some accuracy/quality for mass production? For example the tip on the real one looks like it was machined but I think it would likely be cheaper to cast that part. Just things like that. I have a few of RussReps Sonic Screwdrives, but unless I am mistaken those were made one at a time. Could that type quality and detail be maintained if they are mass produced at that scale? :confused

Jeez, you guys are relentless!!!!!:lol

Feel free to post the PM I sent in reply to your PM.

And so, here it is..

I knew this would happen the moment I posted.

I can't say a thing other than I hope things may be looking positive. We've had lots of false starts and been almost there so many times but we're still working VERY hard to try and make this happen. Rest assured it's not forgoten about and progress is being made every day. Slow bloody progress, but progress all the same!

Best
Neill

But Neill. It's only because you guys do such brilliant, incredible work that we bug you so much! :lol

Bless you and I hope one day to put a big bloody sonic shaped smile on your face. Nothing would make me happier!:lol

Would be nice to finally see this come to fruition! The prototypes were very nice and I know there has been continuous debates...now with Matt Smith coming up in a year, I wonder if the design will yet again change or if we'll keep on seeing this design.

I love your work Neill, looking forward to seeing this come about and I will be one of teh first in line...I think you are lucky that those of us really wanting one are across the pond ;)

Best of luck, Neill. I hope it happens so we all get to share in the big stupid sonic grin of happiness. ;) I WANT ONE!!! LOL!

Oh this is good news. Any forward movement no matter how small is good. thanks for the update Neill
