Just what it says on the box, folks.

Everybody's got a type of music that they hate. However, inevitably, there are songs within that genre that they just might like.

What are yours?

Myself, I hate modern country music. Ever since Garth Brooks came on the scene, country music has gone to crap.

That said, there is one song that, while I don't like it, it just gets into my system and won't. go. away!

Great song! I heard it in one of the trailers for O Brother, Where Art Thou? and ran out and bought the soundtrack before I saw the movie.

The first time I heard "Toxic" was when it was used in an episode of Doctor Who, and I kinda liked it. I was apalled when I found out later it was done by Britney Spears. :sick

Back to the topic, I'm not a fan of rap music by any measure. That said, I love "Baby Got Back" by Sir Mix-A-Lot. One day several years ago a co-worker saw the CD in my car and thought it belonged to my wife; he wouldn't believe it was mine until I started rapping the song right down to the cadence, inflections, and got every word of the lyrics right. :lol Truth be told, I can probably find at least one song I like in any genre of music except disco.
 
Heads up, most of these are not SFW.

Hate rap, but love Public Enemy, The Steets, and... Die Antword, which is like the combination of two genres I would typically hate.

Then there is that kind of poppy girl music that is sort of dime a dozen, not sure what genre to fit that in since pop covers way too many sounds, but I quite enjoy Put Your Records On by Corinne Bailey Rae and The Fear by Lily Allen.

What's interesting about the Lily Allen one is... I don't find the studio recording all that great, but I love this live performance on JKL - Lily Allen - The Fear - Jimmy Kimmel Live 04 03 09 [HQ] - YouTube

Hate... HATE country. Love Johnny Cash, and Hank William's "I'll Never Get Out of This World Alive" is fantastic.

Musicals, not really my thing, but I have a soft spot for crude and juvenile musicals. South Park, The Book of Mormom, pretty much anything from the musical episode of Todd & the Book of Pure Evil
 
Though I really don't like Rap, There are some songs I like.
Regulate By Warren G , Lose yourself By Eminem , Some of Kanye's songs.
I'm not that much into classical either but I like Some of Gershwin's songs and also some of Beethoven I think that's how it spelt.
 
I'll listen to most anything as LNG as the eat make sense.
I just despise Nirvana and how much they play it on Kroq
