Some wall plaques I've made lately

I've been mostly lurking here in amazement at what I see. Being an amateur maker of things, I thought I might show a couple pieces I've done lately. Background - A great-nephew and I share a common Superman worship. (He's 4, I'm 52). So I thought I'd make him something related to that for his bedroom.

Then, not to leave out his best buddy and cousin, I made him a Batman logo.

With that, all great-neices and nephews (all between 3 and 10 years) have pretty much spoken up and my couple of logos has turned into production of a new plaque about 1 a week. 9 down 11 to go. Here's a couple others I did.

I feel like I probably get as much or more enjoyment making them as do the recipients. It's grea fun though to package one up and send to them in the mail. Makes their day.

Very nice work. Looks professionally done. I know my son would love something like that.

He's into Marvel right now with all the Avengers hipe going on.

These are great. Excellent job. I might want one for my boys room. Look forward to seeing more.

Wow, wish I had an uncle like you !

Very nice, and super-'clean' work :thumbsup :thumbsup :thumbsup

You may be onto something here. This is something any child could enjoy in their bedroom.

These are really nice, What are they made of ?

The first one (Superman) was made with some 3/4" plywood I had laying around, so I decided to do the rest in plywood as well but went to 1/2" on most. Batman got some extra work with imitation carbon fiber bought on ebay for $7. It also has glow in the dark inside edges. Glow in the dark spray paint at Hobby Lobby. $7.99. Each plaque costs about $10-$20 depending on needs and what I have around in the shop. Last one I made was free from material I had laying around.

I design them all in Photoshop. I make the design, change the pieces to white with a black border and print.

Here's a couple others:

For the tyedye, I just got a good example online and printed it on photopaper. I sandwich that between 2 pieces of plywood.
