Some have used these for the inside. Take off the outsoles (bottom part). Slip it into the boot area.

Obviously you can use whatever you want, but this is one way to go.

I actually found the shoe insert off one of the older threads recommended by another user. I bought it off Amazon:

You have to cut into the rubber sole and remove it from leather shoe part. Buy a new exacto knife from a hardware store and start going at it slowly.
For the soles that go on the outside of the boot, another user on a previous thread recommended a kung fu shoe:

Very easy to cut the canvas shoe off the sole and remove the twine rope used to attach it.
