Solo's 'Gunslinger' Rig

With alot of guidance and expertise from another RPF member, I'm learning some basic leatherworking as I construct my ESB Solo costume. I'm almost finished with the belt rig. For a first-timer, I thought I did pretty well with the pouch hand-stitching:

I've got a long way to go, but I'm already stoked to make another one.

More to follow...

Impressive...Most impressive.

Did you do the buckles yourself? In fact, can you share more photos and information on the metal on the belt?
Congratulations on a great belt.

Dang BN. That is awesome... :eek

But then again I expect no less than stellar work from you. :)

Now how about them neckseals....? :D

Thanks for all the compliments, guys.

The buckle pieces and most of the leatherwork were done by Ogibendogy here on the board, and he should take all the credit. I'll try to get pics of the buckles and rig connectors over the weekend (they're at his house right now).

The main buckles are all aluminum, hand-cut, sanded and lightly polished for a weathered look. The buckle connectors are made from a slightly thinner aluminum, and hand-turned. The holster rig connectors are machined by a third party, then sanded and polished by hand.

You have learned much middle-aged one, but you are not a leatherworker yet.

All kidding aside, I saw this today and Eric is a natural. With all his prop experience this was a breeze for him. Get that bad-boy sized up and ready to wear.

Great job. I am getting ready to start on a leather adventure myself. Hope mine turns out half as well as yours..
