One thing leads to another lol and decided to draw up a few things in CAD.

First is a Transit Data Reader.
Drew it up as a two part print, but also combined to be printed as a single piece.

Made a few changes to suit and guessed a size for holding in a hand. Ordered an EL panel to illuminate the display panel.
Based on this, taken from the Solo visual book:

It’s hollow and has a panel for internal components, batteries etc.

Next up is this beast [emoji23]

In total this works out to be about a 1 meter tall unit. Designed it to have a central securing rod to help hold it all together. Still need to draw up an attachment to fit where the hole is on the blue section.

Again, this can be seen on Mimban camp, in the Solo book, p43.

This needs sectioning up tho as base alone is wider than my printer bed.

And so the printing begins......

This is going to be the longest print I’ve done! It’s going to take ages.

Printing took over a day to do, and as always, hindsight is a wonderful thing [emoji23]. I’ve gone back over the design and it’s now two pieces (3 with the hatch version)

Testing the EL panel.

The above pic is filler primer.
Needed some more suitable colour paint so the silver I had applied had to be sanded back, before the grey paint was sprayed on.

Still needs more work, but the painting is almost finished for now.

I’ll post up the files on my Thingiverse page once complete.

First attempt at this version of the ‘travel data tag’, worn by travellers around their neck, wanting to pass through the Coronet space port, as seen in Solo.

I’ve added a recess at the back for LED’s and a flat cell battery. The large open recess will have a mesh fitted.

This is being printed next.
