Alright, so the title sums it up.
I'm planning on making a sock monkey for Halloween, and I was wondering if anyone knew of some good bulk suppliers of yarn to recommend?
I have a sock monkey dog toy that I have as inspiration, and it's got a look (the way the eyebrows were done) that says "I'm up to something!"
This picture seems about right"
I think that's correct, yup.
Anyway, the general over view is that this costumes gonna be on stilts and with the head be approximately 9+ feet tall.
I'm building the stilts with self stabilizing joints so I can go up and down hills, and the general under skin will be made from burlap.
I can crochet like a demon, so that's how I'm going to make the outside skin, also using "campdry" or "scotchgaurd" on the skin so that it's much more water repellent.
word so if any body knows a good internet site, or store in seattle aside from "the weaving works" please let me know!
Cheers-
p.s. backup costume is a diver costume like the ones in "Men of Honor" with the giant bell helmets made from brass or copper.
whee!
