Is there enough interest in getting together for a SoCal Prop Party?

If we can get at least 10 people interested I'll get us a nice place to meet.

Re: Southern California?

I'm up for it as well, just need to hear a potential locale.

Re: Southern California?

If the date and location are doable for me, you can count me in! :thumbsup

As the setter upper of a So Cal prop party, I would say mid November would be a good time. October is kinda close. We So Ca'ers like to throw big parties :)

And if he takes his pants off again....I'm leavin!

Gee, and here I thought it would be an incentive to intend! :lol

Seriously, whenever is good. Just, if it's a Saturday, I need enough advance warning to be able to schmooze my boss into letting me have the day off. if it's Sunday, I'm good. Sundays and Mondays are my weekend.

Won't be bringing anything myself, since, well, everything is in storage, but I'd love to be able to see a lot of people again that I haven't seen in over 5 years! Plus, with everything that's happened, a good time with good people is a really pleasant distraction!

Yeah I guess your right Chris, October is a big party month :) So how about a weekend in November?

What would you all like better to meet at, someones house or something similar where be can show off props and do a BBQ? Or just party it up at a restaurant? Or heck party it up at someones house then move the party to a restaurant?

TD,
Before you go further down this road, I would like to suggest you consider the scope of this event. If you do a Dave and Busters event, it's a BIG logistical hassle. Make sure you've got time and energy to manage it. Get contact info from people like PHArchivist or Army Scout, both of whom I believe have organized events through D&B in the past. You've got to get in touch with the D&B folks, figure out a dinner menu, figure out how many people are COMMITTED to coming, then decide your room size, then collect funds, etc. Lots of stuff to worry about. Lots of details to attend to, and it can be a hassle.

Another alternative is to host it at someones apartment complex. I've done this a couple of times in the past, with great success. Lots of condo's and apts in Orange County have "community rooms" that can be rented for 100 to 200 bucks a day. It's usually a more "intimate" environment (and you RPEffers KNOW I love intimacy!!!!!) and can be a bit less hostile. (usually at D&B, there's NUMEROUS non-rpeffers wandering in and out of the room. Can be a mixed bag as far as good or bad) Downside is that there's no cash bar, and tend to be fewer hot chicks and hot moms. It also usually makes a lot more sense for smaller groups. If it's just ten of you, D&B might not be able to work a deal with you.

I'm happy to volunteer my complex's community room if you decide to go that route.

Word. (Is that expression sitll in use?)

I did one last year and it was a lot of work. I enjoyed it since it was the first time through, but there's a lot riding on you. And I'm not sure about Chris, but I ended up eating bout $200, even though I was pretty good - as was everyone else - about funds. I just accepted as an investment in character.

Matt's place has been fun in the past, but like he said, we'd need to import the hot moms!
