Very cool displays they have. Was a fun time. Spent a while in there though, just checking it all out. First time I've seen any real good SW props up close. Here's a link to pics... And I know most of them are a bit blurry. Probably seen most of them, but there you guys go anyways. :D Click the folder labeled PROPS.. ;)

Is that sort of steam-punky thing in the glass tube what's supposed to be inside of a saber?

Right. It's a detail shot of one end of the energy staff wielded by Grievous's Guards.

As Durasteel noted, another member posted shots a while back. Here's a link to that thread:

This exhibit was in Japan last year. Enjoyed it very much. :thumbsup

Wow, every time I look at pics someone else took at AoSW, I see one or two things I didn't see or take pics of when I was there. And I spent TWO FULL DAYS roaming amongst the exhibits and snapped hundreds of pics. :eek

I think its the extremely dim lighting in there...they really should brighten up the place a little... :rolleyes

    And yep actual screen used.

Yeah that was amazing to be on the Friends set. That was at Warner Bros in Burbank, CA.

The lighting did suck though. Arg. Oh well it still worked out fairly well. :p

When AoSW came to Tokyo, photography was strictly prohibited. :cry

Photography was initially prohibited at the Singapore exhibition too, but somehow they changed their minds. However the use of flash and tripod, and video shooting was still prohibited, and coupled with the extremely dim overall lighting and badly placed lightsource for the exhibits, it made photography very difficult.

I've had to take 3 to 5 shots of an item before I get one decent shot, even with a 6.1 Megapixle camera. It was real tiring work because I had to stand really still or lean against something and hold my breath so that I can keep the camera steady... :lol

Got that right. I remember cursing the lighting and the angel of all the clear panels protecting the displays. Out manuvering flash bounce was like working out an intricate pool shot. Then just as you fired off a shot someone would step into the frame or take a picture that caused their flash bounce to ruin your image.

    You did a great job.

Yeah the lighting was bloody difficult to get around. All I was using was my 4 megapixel Cannon Powershot A520. So hopefully some are good. :p PLus like others mentioned, getting a still shot was hard. That's why a lot of the models and the stormtooper are abit blurry. Sorry about that. There's no sketching either. lol.
