Anyways I'm Working on a Hannibal Wendigo Sculpt from the TV Show.

Experience Wise I Have been Sculpting for about 6 months now.. I've always made things as a hobby but I'm Trained in Illustration and I work full time as a Self employed portrait artist and I'm looking to expand into making Props and Masks etc as Its something I've always loved! I also Go by my company name of RabidWeaselStudios and already sell a few props and masks online. I was laid off from work in October 2013 I have just become self employed..I don't want to go back to 9-5 call center work so I now get to spend my days being creative again

Finished the Sculpt of Mads Mikkelsen.. I Just have to make a Start on the Antlers. These will be carved from Foam as I'm making this as a mask for a costume I'm working on for myself. I have not added a huge amount of skin texture etc as the final mask doesn't really need it, plus stippling onto plasticine is a nightmare..Anyways I hope I have done this piece Justice although the photo's haven't.. I'll get some better ones taken on my digital camera when I get a chance.

Excellent sculpt thus far!

A question though, when did you start on this? This contest is for new sculpts (begun after the start date of Jan 6th). If it was started after then you're good. :thumbsup

Thanks Michael..I Started it on Jan 8th.. I had started another thread that day about it on here but was unaware of the competition till a few days later so I made this new thread as my entry. It's my first full head sculpt and I entered just to gain some experience from others. There's some amazing sculptors on here and I can't wait to see what they come up with.

I Made a plaster mold of this today..Unfortunately the front cracked into 4 pieces when removing the sculpt.. I have repaired it by glueing the pieces in the best they would go and filling the cracks with a small bit of plaster..I'm Hoping its worked and the casts are not a complete disaster.. Although the seams could be dremeled out where the crack lines are I suppose.. But seeing as this is a Wendigo Creature Version of Mads Mikkelsen.. It might Just add character

The Repair Job on the Mold..Hopefully I'll Get a Decent pull from it still.. I might have to cast a resin copy at some stage then make a silicone mold of it as I'm not sure how many pulls I'll get from this mold..
