Sneaking things into the movies?

If I know the movie is going to be long I bring in dinner lol. Me the chick and her friends bring in Burger King Or nuggets and drinks. Not all that hard. I always bring food I never buy stuff from the theater to damn much for candy and drinks.

Speaking of cheap, in the 1980s my uncle would bring a trash bag filled with popcorn, and milk jugs filled with kool-aid. Can you just imagine being an eight year old sitting there next to your cousins, and all of the sudden some goof hands you a large plastic trash bag? 30 years later my uncle is dead (plastic trash bag toxins, probably) and that same movie theater is still going strong. Sorry for the flashback, I have no point. :lol

anyway

$12.50 per 3-D ticket times 3, plus food takes a small family in the $50 dollar range. It's cheaper to buy a blu-ray, be wrong and toss it than go to the movies, and the home experience is way nicer than sitting next to two 13 year olds texting each other. I think movie theater owners will get over a few killer burritos.

The same thing I've been bringing to movies for years - a box of frozen jujy fruits. None of the theaters here, even sell jujy fruits, let alone frozen ones.

As far as I'm concerned, it's a wash. I'd never buy food from them in the first place, so they're not losing anything from me.

I simply wheel in my La-Z-Boy on a hand truck and set it up in one of those blank wheelchair areas. My friend is not far behind with the mini dorm fridge full of beer and the extension cord. I also recommend one of those plastic portable urine jugs like you get at the hospital, so you don't miss a moment of the movie.

When I'm feeling frisky, i bring a blanket and a relatively low-priced hooker. Forget that hole in the popcorn amateur crap.

I refuse to take a family of (4) to the movies and spend per pack - $3 for M&Ms, $4 for popcorn, and $3.50 for a medium drink. On top of the $35-45 for just the tickets.

We regularly take our own snacks and drinks. Each person takes their own food and drinks. My fav is the white cheddar popcorn and a 16oz Propel. Sometimes I'll also take a Reese Cup or similar.

One time the lady sitting behind me snuck in a big bag of carrots... Every time she took a bite i turned around and punched her square in the throat... In my head...:angel

I always bring my largest purse and my husband and I stock it with a small convenience store :lol

I Heard (from the net, nothing solid) for a while a few theaters tried making women open their purses etc, and they of course lost business fast, and one woman was a lawyer and filed a 4th amendment violation lawsuit.

I know if they tried to demand my wife open her purse the police would probably be involved quickly. Of course here we have Mcmenamins, Imagine going to see a movie, second run, and being able to enjoy a tasty burger or sandwhich along with a microbrew or favorite beer. Now that's the way to see a movie.

i rarely go to the cinema anymore, but when i do i usually prefer Dos Equis, i mean buy popcorn and a soda. blame nostalgia, but i actually like theater popcorn with genuine artificial imitation butter flavor on it, and i haven't met a vendor yet who wouldn't give me my soda sans ice if asked, so i at least get a decent amount for my tree-fiddy.
that said, sometimes i really want something that they just don't sell in theaters -not pizza or anything like that, i'm still talking snack food. usually it's jelly beans; i love coconut-flavored jelly beans, and the only place to get them is the candy shop in the mall across from the theater. the way i see it, if they don't sell what i want then i'm not diminishing their profits by bringing it in, especially since i'll probably still get popcorn and soda anyway.

It is very very rare for me to get anything at a concession booth at the theater. But I don't sneak anything in with me either, I'm there to watch a movie not really to eat, and at those prices, they can kiss off.

When I was younger we'd sneak in candy. Havent really had to in a while. We have a vintage old theatre that for now is reasonably priced , sells beer and sodas, and pops their popcorn reasonably fresh.

The large chain theatre has a big plastic bucket you buy for 12.00 that lasts the entire year with cheap refills. So its that and I share a soda with the husband if we feel like having anything. Generally we just go to dinner first. However, if I wanted candy I'd probably still sneak it in. Its all about the thrill lol

Though I have to say I wish our 3d prices were the 12.50 mentioned. Ours are 16.00. Regular tickets are 12.00. They have Big-D experience stuff with better seats and speakers that are 14.00 then they add the 2.00 for 3d and usually they air those in the Big-D theatres so it comes out to 16.00 So I know they make a reasonable upcharge on their tickets at least there.

I also have to agree that it already smells gross in most theatres I've been in. Stale and burned popcorn, nachos, hot dogs, and pizza. I'd rather smell Chick-Fil-A or Burgers any day. If I didnt want to be bothered with other people, I'd stay at home where I have control over my environment.

everytime i go to the movies i sneak something in. It's tradition for me and my family. I've gone as far as bringing in 13 hamburgers stuffed in my pockets, coats, and pants. Movies and smuggled in food go hand in hand.

i highly recommend it lol.

I usually just pay the high prices and buy snacks at the theater because its more convenient however there have been many times an old girlfriend and I were running late to a movie and snuck in fast food in her purse etc. Half the time the 16 year old kid taking tickets knew and didn’t even care..

I am surprised at some of the comments that the smell of some fast food may be offensive to other movie goers... The smell of a hamburger and fries or burrito is probably the least offensive of smells in a theater. Concession stand Hotdogs with relish, mustard and onions or nachos with jalapenos smells way worse than a burger and fries in my opinion.

that's awesome. you just reminded me, my first date with my gf i made her carry our McDonalds in her purse into the theater. she was so weirded out and pissed i used her purse. but now till this day, she insists on bringing a nice big purse to carry out food in. hahaha
