this game has taken up most of my free time. So i thought my next project should be from it.

this is the helmet worn by the falmer.
    just starting out the sculpting.

Dont know if its just me but it definetly reminds me of the faceplate off UNIT 2 from Evangelion. Or a Big a$$ spider :lol

thanks everyone! a little progress. this is turning out to be a very difficult sculpt. even though i have 360 degree reference, they are not that good.

depending on the angle, the shape changes, because the image is a bunch of polygons.

so...... im trying my best, but i'm going to have to take a few liberties to sculpt it how i think it will look good.

I can already see one liberty you've taken: eye holes. It did make me wonder how the player can wear a Falmer helmet considering the (blind) Falmer have no need for eye-holes.

    Looks good, though!

    Re: Skyrim: Falmer Helmet

yeah those eye holes were more for me so that i could have markers. im probably not going to make human eye holes. i just needed them for my measurements.

im toying with sculpting the falmer head in as well.

Personally I wouldnt, I'd make the helmet a separate piece from any head sculpt you decide to do.

    small update.
i have been working on this but there probably isnt much to see. just working on getting the shapes better and symmetry.

i decided to also start up on the falmer war axe as well.

here's a ref pic of the axe.

ok so long time coning with this. i have been really busy with house stuff lately so not much time to work on props.

but here is a little i did today. getting the shapes down, and i threw in some details to make it easier for me to see. but this will probably get reshaped.

Re: Skyrim: Falmer Helmet- SCULPT FINISHED

ok i have the first cast out. came out really good! although i didnt quite mold it correctly and they are hard to get out. not impossible, just more work then i would prefer.

these will run on the small side since they are made to fit me, but oh man does it fit good. i will have to take better pics of the fit once i get it painted up.

towards your nose. you can't really see well.

it sit's very well. i have to add a bit more padding, but once i do it will rest just fine.

sorry i didn't take pics of this one. but i did a brush on silicone jacket, then a plasti-paste mother jacket. the mother is in 5 pieces.

That looks amazing! The great thing about Falmer armour is its made from an Organic material so any irregularities only improves it organic look. Cant wait to see this all painted up!

thanks everyone for all the kudos! i haven't had a chance to paint it yet. i have been spending all my time on another project for someone.

yeah i appreciated the fact that the armor was made out of giant bug carapace. it allowed for me to have some irregularities. I will leave the highly accurate, symmetrical steel gear to Volpin! lol!

Arrgh! The Dawnguard download isn't available yet??

Dude. I think the hardened armor is some of the very best looking in the game.
    It's very intimidating looking-
