Skygunbro AOTC Pilot helmet (Movie style)

I just got in today one of these helmets from another owner. It's overall in great shape, already painted, etc. The one thing that's bothering me is that it almost looks as if on the bottom rim of the helmet, where you'd see a neck seal is cut off. It's a clean cut..is this how the Skygunbro helmet is supposed to be? I've searched around and aside from what's on starwarshelmets.com, I've only come up with just his animated pilot, so I have been unable to find a good shot of the rear of this helmet to make a determination.

I am thinking about re-painting the helmet, possibly a custom scheme or I've thought about using the clone animated style paint scheme and applying it to this helmet. I am concerned though as I really do love the decals on this...

Thoughts? Thanks

IIRC, SGB made the helmet prior to anyone knowing what the back looked like, and as such, the rear of the helmet was left plain, with the small, black vent area from the original Kellogg helmet was unmodified, and it never had a neck ring.

Yea I remember him sculpting this before the film like you said. I'd say it was a pretty good sculpt considering the lack of significant visual reference at the time.

Edit: Funny enough, I just realized from your link that he used the Kellog helmet as the base. I didn't know that.
