Sky Trooper 10" Figure Custom Dio from New Star Tours Ride

I was at the grand opening of the new Star Tours ride in Florida and couldn't get enough of the new ride. There were so many new elements in the ride that I would love to see developed, but I figured the first one I should try to tackle was the new Sky Trooper design.

I wanted a cheap stormtrooper statue to use as a base, so I got the idea of using an old Applause figure since it only needed a nice sanding and a fresh paintjob, with a scratchbuilt jetpack and chestbox.
Here's what I have so far after about a week of work, hope you like it!

looks a lot better in primer, its actually a really nice sculpt!

Thanks! Well off of the top of my head the other new characters in the ride would be droids mostly, the new ACE pilot is a really cool design, the G2 droids have a slightly updated appearance, there is a little droid in the Starspeeder now called IC360, which is a neat little camera droid. The starport is cpmpletely redesigned and there are a handful of new starship designs seen throughout the ride, six new starspeeder designs from competeing travel agencys, oh and there is also a new style naboo starfighter in the hanger at the end of the naboo scene that I really want to make a Dio of eventually. There are A LOT of characters that are brought in from the movies(my fav was acbar, cracked me up seeing him).

I know the head is really oversized but, it actually isnt that noticeable in person. For 10 dollars you get what you pay for i guess:rolleyes

I got the booster engines from an Airfix Apollo Saturn V Kit that I will be using for a new studio scale project i will be revealing soon :love. The stormtrooper is an old Applause figure, http://www.collectorsgalleryonline.com/Merchant2/graphics/00000001/aphanstormtrooper.jpg, that I picked up on ebay for dirt cheap. The front chestbox and jetpack were all scratchbuilt with the exception of the Apollo booster part.
