Skeksis Emperor SkekSo costume (Dark Crystal AOR) WIP

Trying to get a head start on DragonCon this year so I've been working on converting SkekSo into a wearable costume while keeping it as original as I can. Difficult when the original is a puppet.

The Story So Far:

Blocking out on the head form:

Little more refinement, probably around 12 hours in it at this point.

Final detail pass on the sculpt, probably took around 20 hours to finish up the sculpt

On to molding and casting! I had some moldmax stroke laying around so I just used that.

I cast it in Smooth-Cast 300 as I had some from another project.

after a little clean up

does it fit? yep!

On to paint!

They are Friendly plastic. I molded it with them in then removed them from the sculpt and put them back in the silicone mold before I slush cast it. It was a experiment, seems to have worked out.

Weird blade thing on the Emperors head roughed out in foam. It attaches with magnets so i can take it off for packing.
