Finally had a go at modelling this piece. Another tick off the checklist of "Things I've wanted for 20+years".
This is the lockpick/decoder/camera/pocket knife(and a few more surprises) used by Simon Templar. I remember ripping apart different pocket knives when I was 11, trying to make a half assed replica.
Will be printing this model tomorrow and seeing how the sizing goes and what changes need to be made.

So I lost some detail on the inside with the first print, but overall I'm happy with it. Going to make the blade about 10%bigger for the next print.

I printed mine in Rhodium metal (looks like CHROME) from Shapeways, and it cost me like $500 or so. I love it, but that was crazy expensive.
I saw your one while looking up pics of the original. Great work! I plan on casting a copy in pewter, but I'll need to cast it in plastic first, because the high temperature silicone doesn't cure over printed resin.
More than likely I'll loose some detail, so I'm trying to work around that at the moment.

Yes, I'm sure pewter will be significantly less than $500. :p

Here we go! The little plaque isn’t original, just added as it was missing the original. This was the torch version of the prop, so the blade isn’t functional.

That is brilliant! I have desired one of these since I saw the film.
Well done you!
