Silcone mask painting question

Yes it can. But I believe paint will go away with time, Skin illustrator is good for prosthetics and that kind of stuff, but doesn't stick forever as far as I know (I've never used it, I wouldn't really know)

For masks, I use a mixture of silicone caulk, nafta and universal tints (or silicone pigments, or even oils). It's cheap and works!

just make sure that the silicone caulking you use has the same element base as the silicone you are casting. I made a beautiful full head and chest prosthetic in dragon skin (Kain from soul reaver), dragon skin is platinum based and the caulking i used for the paint job ended up being tin based. Most caulkings don't list what their catalyst base is, so be careful, because if they aren't the same, the paint will never set.

I've heard that rubber cement works just fine, if you're looking for a replacement for caulk.

Not on silicone. Latex yes.

Violentevo, tin will cure over platinum silicone, platinum will not cure on tin though so there must have been some other reason your paint base didn't cure.

Skin illustrators will colour silicone but will not bond so will rub/ wash off.

Definitely the best thing to do is make a siliocne paint base and tint it, just make sure your siliocne mask is super clean otherwise it will just peel off and as always, if in doubt, do a test piece first
