signing question...

So is it better, in everyones opinion, to have the actual prop signed or trying to do a "signature plaque" like MR does?

In my opinion: A postcard-sized signed photo next to the prop, if at all.
I find a signature on the outside of a prop to be ridiculous. On the inside of a prop, where it can not be seen is a little bit better .. but then it can not be seen.

But to each one his own.

And we are talking about replicas now, and not real props, I hope.

I was and am talking about the builder, the propmaster or even a "star" who handled the prop.

A hand writen letter provideing details is super value.

A COA by a unknown is worthless.

ok,

Yes I am talking replicas. I have the Rod MArk IX tricorder I just got and thought it would be cool to get a signature with it. I was thinking of getting a signature palque for it like a MR one. I had thought about getting the actual prop signed but then thought...What am I crazy!!!!!

SO another question then....if I was to get the MArk IX signed...what cast member would be a fitting signature to be along side it? Wat show?

What about a MArk X tricorder? What show is fitting???

thx

Fine on replicas, best in an obscure or not normally seen area. Never on screen used.

There are a few examples when it's great to get the actor to sign the replica prominently... TOS Star Trek logbooks and TNG PADDs are perfect for autographs. :)

I think getting autographs on screen used props is a no-no but replicas are fair game.

Here is my George Lucas signed Vader and Luke. I also had Dave Prowse sign the Vader as well. This has only increased the value of it. The last offer I had was $1100 for the Vader signed saber.
