SidKit Mal pistol question

I'm having a little trouble with the trigger mechanism.

I don't know if it isn't going together properly or if it is.

When I pull the trigger, there is very little resistance. Shouldn't the little "rivet" looking part be moving inside? If not, what is its purpose?

A little help, please...
