Hi guys,

I have just seen these pics of the Sideshow Yoda at the NY Toy Fair 2007... and well, just wondering if am I the only one who thinks the paint work is a little STRANGE ???

Looks way freckly ...

What do you think ??? (I have ordered it, the one of their page looks so sweet, but this one looks a little weird to my eyes... maybe the lighting ???

....

I see what you are saying but it's always hard to judge a run by the proto.

Time will tell.

Yep, time will tell, just asking this cause I have ordered it :D... and would like to get any surprise, I simply loved the one of their website ;)... wanted to hear some other opinions

I hear ya.

I'm kinda in the same boat with the "Kong" Armature.

Looks like I will be getting my answer shortly.

The color looks right. The paint looks a little glossy in spots. The way his mouth/chin appears in the first pic looks a little odd, almost like a snout. But yeah, the freckle-coat is a little strange. I think they wanted to add a second color (brown) to tone down the green a bit, but rather than use a translucent wash they went with a spatter coat.

I'd like to see it in person before commenting. Pics can be too deceiving, when you're talking about such subtleties.

The Wook

Doesn't look too bad, although (and yes it could just be the photo) his expression seems a bit strange.

The eyes look like they're both pointing outwards slightly Homer Simpson-like which gives them an odd focus although Yoda's eyes are often misaligned slightly anyway, that gives him character.

Based on this one pic alone I prefer Cyberman's sculpt, but it would be nice to see more photos of the Sideshow version.

Anyone have a pic of Cyberman's Yoda?

Please don't.

Both sculpts have there merits and Howard and I would not like comparrisions made between our work.

Thanks

Cyb.

Is this a bust, or half a figure? He looks a little weak in the shoulders to me.

Oops,

So sorry. I see your point, and did not mean to stir the pot. :$

Hope no offense was taken.

I think they are probably bad photographs.

However, from what I can see I'm not too keen on the changes made to Howard's sculpt - but then, I appreciate it's grossly unfair to judge a piece by a couple of snapshots of this ilk.

I look forward to pics once they start arriving at people's doors.
