SIDESHOW Predator Films - Legendary Scale Busts

Something looks off on it, am I the only one?

No you aren't the only one. Some seem to miss the giant issue with it, same thing that gets overlooked on the P2 elder a lot too. The slope of the brow is WAY more steep than the original creature. It's got almost a more Predator 2 slope to the head. Maybe even more so.

New pics...

Nice! Can't wait to see this in person.
I just hope when it comes in it nothing like the TRACKER Maquette Paint job! (they f-ed up BAD!)
If thats the case I'll never buy Sideshow stuff anymore.

The one Sabres posted is most likely a production piece, its displayed at a cinema close to where SS is located and its paint job is deffinately different to the proto, it looks pretty good imo. I snagged an EX and these should be shipping in a few weeks, i cant wait for the postman to knock with this one :)

I love that feeling. Its well worth the wait when it arrives.

Yeah its been a while though, funds havnt allowed it so much in the last year or so, had to have this when i saw it though, also ordered the Berserker maquette as i love the pose, if they mess either of the paint jobs up il not be a happy chappy though... Fingers crossed.

And if that wasn't enough, we'll soon see his companion piece:

Sideshow says they'll put out all of the Predators from every film -- and they even showed a glimpse of the P2 Elder. The rest of the video offers a glimpse into their other LSB's and how they're adding arms or accessories to further the senses of uniqueness and dynamics. Interesting stuff. We'll be in for a treat with these.

I love this and cant wait for the postman to knock in a few weeks. That being said, how does everyone feel about the top two teeth pointing out, it seems to be on the proto and production pieces, is it a killer or could you live with it? for me, simple things like that can kill even the best statues and its been bugging me since someone over on sf pointed it out, but im reserving judgment until i have it sat infront of me.

Again Sideshow dissapoints with their paint job and I hope not all of the busts have the same deffect but did any of you noticed how the teeth aren't glued right ?they seem to flare out
shame on you sideshow!

Yeah, you figure with the cost they would give them a quality paint application and the two nostril fangs do look a tad funny jutting outward like that.

Regardless, if you are a true PredHed then you buy if you like and don't if you do.

I'm glad I cancelled my order. The eyes look off and like Lem said, the upper inner teeth aren't pointing in the right direction. I'm so disappointed in SS's products as of late...

After I got over the horrible one dimensional paint job, the right tusk (Left in pic) jumped out at me. Sorry, but that asymmetry is just plain stupid, let alone the vampire fangs...

Yeah, I mentioned the teeth in a previous post so i feard they wouldn't be fixed before they shipped them out and i was unfortunately correct. To be fair though other than the damn flared teeth this one is pretty good! its very large and heavy and the paint job isn't half bad for an SS production piece, and thats coming from me, a glass half empty perfectionist. Im actually really happy with this piece, it has a certain character to it thanks to the slight pose. There's certainly nothing wrong with the eye's in person. The mouth area is far too pale though and I hate how the veins are painted inside, il certainly be getting the paint touched up and the teeth straightend when I find someone talented that id trust to do it. Oh and there is a missing quill and paint chips on mine, Sideshows QC strikes again. Otherwise its pretty damn impressive in person, pics were taken from a camera phone so dont judge it on those alone. plenty of decent pics on the forums.

EDIT: oh forgot to say, Ronin, the teeth fault is not limited to mine, they all have it!! a guy over on statue forum modded his though, apparently after being heated with a hairdryer they came out easily..... one for a later day then i think. Its a shame SS lets these silly QC issues ruin otherwise amazing products.

I think your mistaken, the posts above refer to the top two teeth of the inner mouth, they are flared out when they should be straight. The mandibles are intentionally posed in this manner and along with the slight head tilt they actually add a great ammount to the statues overall character. It appears to represent the scene at the end of the film where Arnie tries to lure the pred under the spikes and the pred almost smurks at him. This one is by no means intendid to be symetrical, and as i said above my pictures aren't amazing, it looks more impressive in person imo. Its by no means perfect, slightly too pale and the mouth area in paticular needs work but overall im very happy with it.

To be honest though this piece is utterly pointless and should never have been made.. It's size in the main issue, people will come to your house and be like man, predators were small aye? Or is this a baby predator? It's just stupid! If it was 1:1 for 350 bucks I'd be all over it, but it's a piece that sortof requires scale in order to be taken seriously, without that it wouldn't even cost 200 bucks bcos to other people it's just confusing

Im not sure I follow your logic, what are fans of the queen alien to do for example if only 1:1 scale statues were ever made? it would need a room of its own... a large one at that. I have some model planes also, no one ever looked at them and said how exactly do the pilots fit in? And as cool as it would be, I simply can't fit a 50ft long F-16 in my room ;) For me, this is the perfect scale. Its big and has presence, its bigger than the full sized endoskull and yet it still sits just nicely on my computer desk just where i want it. I have no space for the 1:1 bust and to be honest, can't afford it so this Legendary bust is just what I was looking for. No one ever saw the old palisades 10 inch busts and said Wow the predator was tiny, It won't happen with this either. I agree the full bodied humanoid 1:2 scales such as obi wan legendary figure may have that midgit effect, But this is just a bust, it isn't a full figure and it works well. Like i said its far from perfect but i love it.....

well i guess if you like a product you buy it !if you dont ,you dont buy it ,who cares what people say, each to there own as i say! all i can say is i cant wait to get mine !
