Sideshow Kong Armature delivered at last

I gave up.

I cancelled my order.
[/b]

I too am actually considering cancelling after I got this final response today from sideshow (below). Having your payment held this long is even less tolerable when you screw up and miss out on the $75 certificate. There are going to be only 500 of these. What are the chances that I could get Kong after it actually ships at a similar price (I think we already had a $25 reduction for waiting) from a dealer? Is it less expensive from dealers anyway?

-----

I am so sorry for this confusion, please know that the Gift Certificate Code expired on 12/31/06, not a specific time. Please know that the Gift Certificates are automated and if they system will not accept the code that the certificate has expired and there is no way to extend the expiration date.

Please let me know if I can be of further assistance.

:confused

Seems as if there must have been many complaints from customers in the same boat as you, belloq (that is, missing a gift card deadline because of confusion about the expiration date). In the most recent newsletter, Sideshow has extended the deadline of the 2006 San Diego Comic-Con gift card and specifically reminded customers that the expiration date is GMT.

If you were lucky enough to attend the 2006 San Diego Comic-Con and managed to grab a Sideshow Gift Card at the event, we have some good news. The expiration date on these cards has been extended for a couple more weeks into January 2007. We do recommend that you use those cards as soon as possible, rather than waiting until the last minute, as they expire in GMT (Greenwich Mean Time) on the date specified. This means that they all expire at a set time on the date in question, no matter which time zone you are in. Don't forget to read the entire Terms and Conditions - most Gift Card questions can be answered by reviewing this helpful resource.[/b]

I guess this doesn't help you with your expired gift card from the Kong Armature delay... but it shows that Sideshow is aware of the problem of gift card deadlines in general, and trying to do something about it.

IIRC, its state law in CA that gift cert. or gift cards can't have expiration dates. This is why some places put "service charges" on gift cards after a certain period of time, to get around that.

So if they were giving you "gift certificates", and they're located in CA, there shoulden't be an expiration date. Coupons, yes, but not gift certificates.

Not that anything will come of that, but just thought that was curious.

I just got an email from SS stating they are going to be getting the SS KK armature to their LA ware house in approx. 15 days and start shipping from there.

WOOHOO...............

I just cancled my order through SS as I'll get mine from a seller here on the board.

I can't wait..
