Sideshow Hellboy Samaritan - Take 2 (merged)

Can anyone please do me a favour and post a picture of the rear of the Sammy, specifically the grip in relation to the frame. Mine has a noticable 'wonkiness'. This, coupled with the large amount of play in the cylinder (not just the cylinder on the screw but the screw itself) has me considering wether or not to return for a replacement.

Bit of a WIP shot, didn't see much point in making a new thread tho.
Primary work done on my mill and lathe, rest is gonna have to be done by hand and eye :unsure.

Just got an exclusive from Sideshow a few days ago. Man, this thing is a beast! Besides my Rocketeer and Boba Fett helmet, this is my first real prop replica. It looks really great displayed on the base, and the light up bullets are awesome! :)

Looking good sidewinder.

I still haven't got my replacement yet :angry

They agreed to replace on 8th December so here we are creeping up on three months of additional waiting.

Really, really not happy with Sideshow customer services at all. It took three weeks to get a reply about status of replacement. And when they did reply, I got absolutely no explanation as to the delay, just fobbed off to yet another department.

It's on its way now. I just have to wait for it to leave the US warehouse.

Here's a pic:

of my completed Samaritan after painting. It's very very subtle. But that's what I wanted. I wanted it to sell to ME, and a paintjob for the screen would be much less subtle. For parts that were much more silver, like the hammer and the trigger, just put on more rub n buff, let it sit for a while and then buff.

Works like a charm.
As I am just acquiring mine, any chance you can post pictures again?

I bought my HB 2 Samaritan back when Sideshow released it in 2008. Unfortunately, my son’s friend picked it up and broke the barrel release lever on the side of the gun and bent the barrel locking lever it is attached to (the rod that is slotted to fit the barrel assembly after loaded). Does anyone else have this issue? Is there a prop whiz that sells the replacement? I know there are 3D printed Sam’s out there, but probably they aren’t the same sizes as the SS prop.

The 2008 is the metal one? If so could you take pictures of the problem parts? My Samaritan was smashed in a move, but I've kept it in a box. I'd be happy to send you the parts, if they are undamaged on mine.

I think I remember reading that people had successfully repaired broken levers with JBWeld glue since it´s an IIRC die cast zinc alloy that was used for the gun parts.

Daddy from Naboo and Cheviot--thanks! I pondered the JB Weld solution, but then decided to try molding and casting a new part in pewter. I used Smooth On Mold Max 60, a hot plate to melt the pewter, and the part turned out pretty well. I also turned a new lock pin out of steel...the pewter one bent waaaaaay too easily.

I've attached pics. If anyone needs this particular part, DM me. I cast three extra and would happily give them to a Hellboy in need.
