Sideshow AVP-R Predator Helmet Arrived!!!!!

I came home from work today to find the large box sitting right next to my garage door.. It was pretty securely packed and was amazed when I opened it... The base is by far the heaviest of the 2 pieces, made of solid polystone I believe.. The helmet has a nice weight to it, not too heavy, not to light..

It is secured onto the base by a pretty strong magnet, and feels great when you remove it... The LED's are very bright, though I wish they were actual lasers... The inside of the helmet looks good, though there is no way to see through the eyes unfortunately, but good thing I don't plan on wearing it..

I hope that Sideshow decided to make other Predator helmets in the near future

All in all, it was worth the $225 I paid for it

Sorry for the bad rushed pics

Thanks for sharing these pics. That helmet looks very nice and you have a really cool collection of Pred helmets! I love the base of the Sideshow piece. I held off ordering one but now I'm reconsidering ...

How about the AVP bust - did you preorder that one as well?

$225 ? thats pretty cheap

yeah I originally had it pre-ordered from Sideshow, then while going through an online store site that I purchsed alot of items from in the past, I noticed that they had it on sale for $224.99, which was the same price as the cannon and throwing disc, I figured it must be a mistake, so I placed my order from them, figuring they would have to honor the price quoted... and they did :D

I wish they would have taken the time to detail the inside of it, but I guess that would have made it more expensive.:unsure

I would imagine that it wouldn't be that tough to work the eyes in. Is the helmet made of polystone as well or resin (if you can tell)? I've never worked with polystone so I don't know if it would just chip and crumble, though.

This has really upset me, i cancelled my order from Sideshow about 3 days before they were delivered to the Europe depo. I just got my tax bill & had my first 2 MR helmets coming & panicked. This sold out a long time ago & I really couldn't wait to get it, but it had to be cancelled due to funds & my girlfriend doesn't need me to start collecting other movie props other than SW. Boy I wish I never cancelled this it looks fantastic. At leat someone else got a chance to enjoy it. 6.5/10 for the film but great prop. I'm jealous

I want to say the helmet is made of resin, just has that sound to it when tapped

What a beauty...I love this mask.I want it,too...but here in germany I cannot buy one.:cry

Tha mask looks sensational!!!

I've had mine pre-ordered for ages as soon as they released the photos on the Sideshow website. Just confirmed with the store this week that they have received their entire order allocation and as such I have one gauranteed!!

I love the pic on sideshow which shows all three pieces mounted together on the wall (gun is on a stand) - looks awesome.

Grats on the purchase!

the only real issue i have with the helmet is ya cant really put it on, well, unless you have a predator mask ...or have a real weird head...

And here for all..the inside of the real heroprop..:love
Um, not quite...

That interior was actually done for this helmet, which is seen here in a deleted scene where Wolf pulls it off of one of the dead Predators to review footage of what transpired on the crashed ship (which became redundant when they added the sequence at the beginning of the Predator homeworld)
