I thought I would share my newest prop. Its the ABS 80 ANH trooper armor and boy is it beautiful. The level of accuracy is incredible. It came as a kit so I had to assemble it. It was quite easy and came with some pretty good instructions to do it. I was immediately floored by the quality of it. Being ABS and having a 80 guauge thickness its very strong and at the same time its super sharp in all aspects. I love it. It has the perfect level of glossiness to it too.
Well here is some pics. I hope not too many. Im just very excited about it and had to share. :) Thanks for looking.

Nice job. I recieved a set in the recent batch too and I'm really impressed with it. And I have to say that looking at Clutch's excellent recent thread charting the progress of a GF suit construction I can't see any differences at all between GF and ABS80 they look identical to me (apart from the lack of GF's signature of course). I even read somewhere a while back that the seller purchased GF's molds, anyone know for sure if that's correct?

Darth Infamous, how did you paint the Ab buttons so neatly? Freehand or templates of some sort?

Cheers, Sean

Hi Guys,
Thanks for the kind comments. Yes it does look close to a GF but only because of the sheer quality of this thing. There are differences such as the lower chest lip and the ab buttons and channels being mush more accurate to the original. The way the chest straps look. The leg, bicep and forearm pieces are also assembled using the accurate stripping...like the originals. BTW Sean I was VERY careful on the button painting. Use a semi fat brush and dont shake. :) So no I used no templates. Although that might be a less painful way of doing it. The suit itself is still very light but dang its strong.

Nice looking suit.

I would say it looks more like a TE rather than GF.It looks like it's had a few tweaks and still looks to have the ROTJ tells, especially the legs.Great suit none the less. :thumbsup

*edit* Forgot to ask "how tall are you Darth?"

-Paul.

Noooooooooooooo, i seem to be the only one for whom the pics do not show.

I only get little boxes with red cross.

man... I already own two TE sets of armor, and I'm still impressed with that. Assembly, fit and everything else looks fantastic. Great job.

Im little on the short side for it hence the no gap in the knee joints. It still fits wonderful. I dont have to worry about cracking the thing like in a styrene suit because ABS is very flexible when I move.

Yeah, I thought it would be an identical copy of a GF and I see that it is improved in areas. Did it come with abs strips for the front of the thighs?

Thanks guys for the kudos on the armor. :)
Clutch- Yes it came with all the ABS strips to put it properly together. Whats nice about that is there is freedom to adjust it for your size.

Currently in the process of assembling my ABS80 suit also.

Very impressed with the forming, detail and overall quality of the armor. Very nice kit.

Great job on your set-up Darth Infamous. B)

You've now inspired me to get moving and complete my armor.
