Now that TCSS has a thin-neck system, I put together this Obi-wan mashup.

All the weathering and dark sections were achieved with Aluminum black before sealing with Rustoleum flat clear coat. There are some very minor dings and dents but I wanted to keep it relatively clean.

The chamber is mostly Goth-3Designs modular parts, with a couple PLA printed parts to hold the chassis PCB so it can be removed. I painted it with airbrushed enamel and used dry-brush acrylic for weathering. The crystal is real quartz and is lit by a single 3535 pixel. Thanks to the 'blade detect' feature of ProffieOS, the saber automatically changes to a crystal sound font when the chassis is removed and will no longer power up. A single button is mounted and counter-sunk in the cubes and the pommel features a D ring insert for belt wear.

I also put together this small MHS V1/V2 mashup using Sur-Fin brass patina and more aluminum black.
It's a simple removable battery install (also using Proffieboard) and is just a hair shorter than a Graflex. Same recessed button as the thin-neck and a replica Kobold clip from WannaWanga. The glass eye is a 12mm cabochon set in a button bezel. It illuminates with the blade.

Those are awesome! I really like the mashup looks with the brass, aluminum and black coloring! Well done!

Here is mine.

I had forgotten I did my own some time back; this was for the Jedi Knight character I played in a Star Wars RPG some years ago who developed proficiency with a "lightstaff" (came up with it before the prequels established Darth Maul's lightsaber):

The sabre/ staff was to have purple blades, but I never got around to sourcing the materials needed. So, it remains a hilt to this day.

I'd bet if you polished this, it would look incredible! Add maybe something like Luke had on his lightsaber for a grip, a couple of adjustment knobs for deco and a kit for a blade, and it would knock it out of the ball park!

Hello,

Not sure if this thread is still going or not. I have recently given making homemade lightsabers a try. It started when I found a new Sideshow collectable Statue of Boba Fett in the Desert. On his right hip he has three lightsabers as trophies. Since I am making a Mandalorion kit inspired by this statue, I decided to make the lightsabers rather than purchase them already made. Below are a two of my five latest homemade lightsabers. I will post the others soon. Please let me know what you think. These were all made using parts acquired from Home Depot or Lowes.

I love the black paint coming off on the first one, tremendous! Love to see your Mando get-up once it’s all done too!

I think there's a ton of people here whose first prop they built was a custom lightsaber along those lines! All my pictures from back then are about that same size. I wish I could have saved them larger!

Hope this doesn’t ruffle any feathers…figure this fits more into the “custom” category than the “screen-accurate” one.

I love Luke’s lightsaber, but all the different versions just have individual elements I like. I suppose if I had to pick one, it’d be the V2, but there are things I like from the others still. So I’ve been working on a model that combines the features I like into one “idealized/hybridized” hilt.

Let me tell you, knurling in Fusion is hellish. I spent hours on the turntable knob alone, just for the knurling.

Nothing here is particularly “accurate”, per se, but that wasn’t really ever my concern. I did work pretty heavily off of the Lightsaber Guidebook PDF, though, even if I didn’t go whole hog on the wonkiness of the rings or pommel cubes or anything.
