morning party people.

this is my basic showcase and how to, of my version of the stormtrooper electro binoculars[/h]
this isnt screen accurate (hardly any of my props are as i hybrid/D.M.O.T) but it might help or give people ideas on their own builds which is what its all about.

so, for a starting point, the main body.

the main body is a submarine game, which you put to your eyes and controled by 2 small panels on the left and right. i bought this one from ebay for around £30. they are hard to come by as they are a very old game now.

so i stripped all the inners out, and replaced with bright LEDS x 25 in lime green. the idea being that as the trooper puts to the eyes it gives off a green hue reflection onto the helmet (though the wearer cant actually see out of the unit)

cheers, it took a long time to find this kind of body, it came all the way from south korea, i waited 6 weeks but it was worth it!

This looks great!
The funny thing is that there seems to be a couple real products which do exactly what the movie prop pretended to.
One of them would be the Jakks Pacific night vision binoculars and the other would be Sony DEV-5 digital binocular
I think it would be great to make up the macrobinoculars with either a Jakks Pacific Second Gen EyeClops Night Vision Goggles or a Spy Net Ultra Night Vision and it would be a functional prop.

nooooo... but it burns your eyes out if you look into it without a helmet.
