Short Sterling Trooper Blaster

Hey guys I've used the search function but haven't turned up anything. Im probably using the wrong search terms.

Anyway I went to the pawn shop yesterday and something blew my mind. Here in a very small eastern KY town (only one street) there was a sterling sitting along the wall. It was a short pistol style version though. If it was the full size I would have bought it right there, but if this short version is ever on screen I will walk back across the street and get the gun this afternoon.

It's probably the parapistol, it was never seen on screen as far as I know. Even the DH-17 is based on the full-size L2A3 despite looking a lot like the parapistol. If I remember correctly it didn't even come out til the early 80s but can't remember which year.

Ok thanks guys, I wasn't sure and I knew there was that one promo pic of the trooper with a short blaster but wasn't sure what it was. It was cool to see anyway.

Is this what you're talking about or was is it something diffrerent?

It is almost that, apparently its the newer knock off made from real sterling parts. It appears that the grip and trigger are moved slightly closed to the back so it throws the proportions off a little. But it is still instantly identifiable as a sterling.

Screenused or not - it´s cool, and it looks StarWars. :cool

If you can get it cheap, take ist. Noone knows if you will ever find another.

I gave TK-Fett some identification hints via PM, it appears what he found was the new Century Arms/Wiselite Colefire Magnum Sterling knock off... A MK7 knock off built from MK4 parts kits, chambered in Soviet 7.62x25mm running a modified Sten magazine... At first glance it might be mistaken for a real Sterling due to the fact it uses real Sterling parts but it's honestly different in almost all aspects... They can be had new for $400-$500...

Thanks for all the info guys, I will stop back by and see what the price is. If I don't take it would anyone here be interested?

My Lando version DH-17 blaster variant was made from a full sized Sterling, but it sure looks as if that Sterling pistol would have done the trick.

FYI the 7.62x25mm surplus ammo is dirt cheap right now...

1,260 round cases for about $120 - $150 delivered to your front door...

Hey Guys I stopped back by and the guy is asking $425 out the door for the gun. There is one small blemish in the finish of the gun above the magazine but it still fires and looks fine.

If anyone is interested I can give you the contact info.
