Ship safe swords

I've been wondering about this for a while.
I have always wanted swords to display in my room but the customs here won't let it in the country.

I Thought maybe if the blade was gone and a small section of metal to keep the hilt in place in the scabbard.

Wouldn't be considered a weapon would it?

I'm not sure which country you are talking about.

but most contry will allow citizen to posses purely decorative sword with dull blade.

in the worst case. what you can do is take the sword into pieces, and mail them
separately, and re-asemble them.

only parts that may cause problem would be the metal blade, but if it is dull, it should
pass the customs.

Pretty sure the UK passed some laws in recent years banning decorative swords like stainless steel blades and such, and you have to be a practicing
martial artist or historical re-enactor to possess swords.

Maybe someone more knowelegable can chime in here.

I have herd of people at ren fairs carring a sword with a 3 inch blade in a scabbard and it is legal.

UK law only applies to crappy replica kantanas, or swords with a MACHINE made curved blade over a certain length, hand made japanese swords new and old are legal to import.

most other types of swords sharp or dull bladed can be imported with ease. Me and my dad both practice kendo, and my dad has a collection of antique katanas, several of which have been bought in japan online and have made it through customs easily. as did my atlantean sword copy from hong kong, its due to several counts of idiots attacking people with replica japanese swords.

There's plenty of wallhangers available here in the UK.

Or, if you want something really special, quite a few decent swordsmiths who will make you one, properly hand forged and everything. Pattern welded sound good?
